Anambra state police command has confirmed the release of the kidnapped native doctor, Chukwudozie Nwangwu, popularly known as “Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki”, by his abductors.
Recall that the popular native doctor was kidnapped at about 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, 23rd July, 2023 at Oba in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed Nwangwu’s release on Saturday, 29th July.
Ikenga said that Nwangwu’s was released by his abductors in the early hours of Saturday.
According to Ikenga, the abductors contacted with friends and relatives demanding millions for, although, they did not make any payment.
“I also have information that they have not paid. I also have information that he has been released by his abductors and we are making efforts to get information behind what happened”, Ikenga added.
