Unknown gunmen, suspected to be bandits, in an attack on Monday, killed two immigration officers at the Kangiwa border in the Arewa local government area of Kebbi State.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Kebbi State Command, public relations officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service, DSI Abdullahi Isah, on Tuesday, noting that the suspected bandits launched an attack on the gallant officers at the entry point in Gari Garba, 12 kilometres away from Kangiwa town, which resulted in the deaths of the two officers on duty at the border.
The names of the deceased are Isah Nafui (DSI 34057) and Garba Haruna Fana (NIS 17796), who have all been laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
He added that investigations to fetch out the perpetrators is still ongoing.
He further stated that the killings of their men wouldn’t distract them from official duties of putting out criminals.
