Gunmen believed to be Boko Haram members has allegedly killed Church of Christ in Nations Pastor, Luka Levong, in Geidam, Yobe State, during the early hours of Friday, January 5, 2023.
According to residents who spoke to Channels TV on Friday, stated that the terrorists launched their attack around 2 am on Friday. Adding that the said attack also claimed the life of the church’s treasurer, Maina Abdullahi.
They also disclosed that the invaders also burnt down several houses and a church during their attack. However, corpses have been evacuated to the Specialist Hospital, Geidam.
As at the time of this report the Nigerian Army Spokesperson, Onyema Nwachukwu, is yet to release a statement to this regard.
Recall that, Geidam is a focal point in the fight against insurgency with over 150,000 displaced. Also, Boko Haram, based in northeastern Nigeria, has killed around 50,000 people and displaced over 2.5 million since its inception.
