….says Command Lost 37 Police Officers from January 2019 till date.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa has said that the former Minister of Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi is still wanted by the Police, stressing that “nobody not even me or Gbagi is above the law.
The CP disclosed this on Monday, November 23, 2020, when members of the Indigenous Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Delta State council, paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Asaba, adding that the 2023 gubernatorial aspirant will surely be arrested in due time.
CP Inuwa stated that, Gbagi having used an excuse of burying his elder sister, escaped out of the state and cunningly rushed to Abuja to obtain an interim injunction to restrain the Police from arresting him (Gbagi).
“The day I set my eyes on Gbagi ‘I will arrest him myself’, perhaps he thinks the court injunction will save him, yes it will but for a different charge entirely, but he will be arrested for many other charges against him.” Inuwa assured.
Speaking further, the CP said, “Let me tell you dear friends, until we start demystifying these so called big men who think they are above the law, they will not understand how a bitter pill tastes. He could have been playing people all along, but not with me. Let him keep running, all I know is that he is still being wanted by the Command”
The Commissioner who noted that Gbagi was on the run for an alleged criminal offence of stripping his female workers naked, including married women, was also alleged to have criminally obtained money from the staff after dehumanizing them in the presence of other staffs.
Meanwhile the Police Chief hinted that the EndSARS protest was engineered by criminally minded elements and hinted that the major cause of the protest which started in Delta state was as a result of fake news and that all persons involved have been charged to court.
CP Inuwa further revealed that it’s painful that since January 2019 till date that 37 Police Officers have lost their lives in the line of duty in the state; at the hands of hit and run drivers as seen during the covid-19 lockdown, kidnappers, armed robbers, bandit, armed hoodlums and a host of others.
He commended the Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his proactive approach towards handling the affairs of the state mostly in these trying times, saying, “maybe it’s because he is a doctor; you know doctors are always proactive and ready to save lives”.
