National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Niger state Command has shut down Oyoyo Filling Station located along Kaduna-Abuja Road in Suleja, for serving as Indian hemp store house.
This was contined in a statement by the State Commander of the NDLEA, Mr Musa Bwalin, on Saturday at Minna.
Bwalin said that staff of the filling station and the security has been taken into custody for further investigations.
He added that, after proper investigations have been made they will be taken to court for prosecution.
According to Bwalin, 2,272 kilograms of Indian hemp were recovered in Suleja Area by his men, adding that the Indian hemp was to be transported to Abuja.
The state commander further disclosed that, the agency recovered a total of 2,218.02 kilograms of Indian hemp in Niger State during various raids on some identified black spots.
He also appealed to the Governor of Niger state, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago, to make provision of operational vehicles to enable them raid many more black spots where illicit drugs are being sold.
The state Commander urged the general public to desist from stigmatizing addicts.
