The Police in Warri have arrested three suspected armed robbers for allegedly robbing a Policeman along the popular Hausa Quarters near God’s Kingdom Society in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was learnt that the three suspects in a commercial tricycle trailed the said policeman to a commercial bank where he went to withdraw money with his ATM Card.
As soon as the Policeman came out of the bank premises, they (suspects) allegedly attacked the Policeman who was on mufti with daggers, knives and other dangerous weapons before dispossessing him of unspecified amount of money and other personal effects including his ATM.
The Victim (Policeman) quickly alerted other mobile Policemen at Security post near the scene and they quickly swung into action with local vigilante in Igbudu and arrested the three suspected armed robbers.
The suspected armed robbers were beaten to stupor before they were dragged to the “B” Division Police Station in Warri.
When approached for further insight into the alleged robbery, the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Anieteh Eyoh declined comments on the matter.
However, a Police Source who craved anonymity said they have arrested the suspects stressing that they are under being interrogated.
Contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa confirmed the report in text message which reads, “It is confirmed that 3 suspects have been arrested and exhibit have been found in them which was money withdrawn from ATM.”
