A lecturer in the Department of Physical and Health Education at the University of Maiduguri, Dr Kamal Abdulkadir, has been murdered in his office.
According to AIT LIVE report, Abdulkadir was killed on Sunday by attackers who sneaked into his office and confronted him with a knife and hammer.
They also noted that sources disclosed that the victim was later found dead in a pool of his blood, with several injuries inflicted on his body.
The source said, “His hands were peeled off when he tried to stop the attackers from stabbing him.They also used a hammer to smash his head and his spinal cord, killing him instantly.”
Confirming the incident, the police spokesman in Maiduguri, Nahum Daso Kenneth told AIT LIVE on phone that eight suspects are in their custody while further investigation continues.
The Force also urged the people to remain calm and go about their businesses as the authorities are on top of the matter.
