The president of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote has unveiled the first sample of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, boasting that the Spirit will match that of the United States, and other parts of the world.
Dangote stated this on Tuesday during a press conference to announce the official production of 650,000 petrol barrels per day facility at Ibeju-Lekki Area of Lagos State.
He said, “Our quality will match what they have in the United States.”
While speaking at the event, Dangote expressed gratitude towards Nigerians and President Bola Tinubu administration for providing a conducive environment for growth and development.
He also commended President Tinubu for the initiative of the Naira-for-Crude policy, which aims to stabilize the Naira by linking it to crude oil transactions.
Dangote highlighted that the operational refinery will offer a transparent view of Nigeria’s true consumption patterns. He emphasized that the refinery’s ability to monitor every loaded truck and ship will enhance the tracking and efficiency of petrol distribution across the country.
He further assured that the refinery will cater not only to Nigeria’s needs but also to the demands of the broader sub-Saharan African region. This regional focus reflects the refinery’s potential impact beyond national borders.
