The United Kingdom, UK, government has banned popular social media platform, TikTok on government owned devices, citing security concerns.
In an interview with Skynews, the app’s UK marketing manager, James Stafford said they are disappointed with the decision made by the government but they have to adhere to it.
He said “We are disappointed with the decision, but we understand that the UK government has advised that the use of TikTok either on a social or corporate devices should be avoided.
The marketing manager continued that they “proactively engage with stakeholders including government.
He also added that “In the area of online safety, in the area of data security to make sure that we give confidence to all of our responsible partners in this area.”
The security of users data on TikTok, has in recent times been a great concern to some governments including that of the United States.
The UK government has banned TikTok on government devices, citing security concerns.
