The Chairman of X formally known as Twitter, Elon Musk has said the platform will soon launch two new tiers of premium subscriptions.
Musk announced this on his official X page on Friday, October 20, noting that they will be both low cost and high cost subscription.
Musk wrote, “Two new tiers of X Premium subscriptions launching soon.
“One is lower cost with all features, but no reduction in ads, and the other is more expensive, but has no ads,” Musk said on a post on X.
Meanwhile, Musk did not provide more detail on the subscription plans.
Recall that the company had in a statement noted that new users will be charged $1 to sign up.
Following this, the company started charging new users $1 in New Zealand and the Philippines as a test case for accessing the platform.
New users who opted out of subscribing will only be able to take “read only” actions, such as: read posts, watch videos, and follow accounts, the company said in its website.
According to the company, the subscription method aims to reduce spam, manipulation of the platform and bot activity.
