Don Bosco Science Secondary School, Ekpoma, Edo State has won SEPLAT JV PEARLS Quiz competition, walking home with the grand prize of N1O Million.
Seplat Quiz is an annual competition which usually involves Schools from Edo and Delta States competing for various laurels and prizes.
This year’s competition was online, which 510 took the test but only 139 were qualified, before its finals held at the Southend event Center, Asaba, Delta State, on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Speaking at the event, the Director, External Affairs and sustainability for Seplat FAG PLC, Chioma Afeh, started by welcoming the dignitaries and participating schools to the event, noting that Seplat is committed to helping the younger generation get good education.
Afeh also said that Seplat JV Pearls Quiz is aimed at rewarding academic excellence in both Delta and Edo State by engendering the spirit of competition into students.
She added that, Seplat Quiz directly impact academic performance of student, it encourages students to read their syllabus intensively and extensively.
Also speaking, the Managing Director Seplat West, Ayodele Olatunde, appreciated the cooperation of the Governor of Edo State, Delta State and the commissioner of education.
Olatunde said that Seplat Pearls Quiz is designed to promote and reward academic excellence in secondary schools both in Delta and Edo State.
At the end of the quiz competition Don Bosco Science Academy, Ekpoma, Edo State, as the winner after defeating Our Saviour Secondary School, Sapele. The Third position, Hollywood international school, Asaba after defeating Divine Province Educational Center, Edo.
The champion of the quiz competition, Don Bosco Academy went home with Ten Million while their students got One hundred thousand naira each. Our Savior School, the first runner up got five million naira while their students got Seventy five thousand naira each.
Hollywood international School, the second runner up got Three Million Naira while their students went home with Fifty thousand naira each, just as Division Province Educational students were offered Ten thousand Naira each.
Educational materials were also given to the participating Students and each of the winning school teachers were given HP laptop computer.
