Renowned Afrobeat Artist, Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy will host a special live event with YouTube Music Nights to commemorate the 5-year anniversary of his album, ‘African Giant’.
The event which is scheduled for July 26, 2024, will be live streamed on Burna Boy’s YouTube page.
Burns Boy expressed his excitement for the event, saying: “Celebrating the 5th anniversary of ‘African Giant’ with a special performance in London, supported by YouTube Music, has been an incredible experience. This album holds a special place in my heart as it represents a pivotal moment in my career and a powerful statement of African pride.”
The head of Music at YouTube in Africa, Addy Awofisayo, in slao expressing joy stated that, “We are thrilled to present Burna Boy on YouTube Music Nights, celebrating the 5th anniversary of his groundbreaking album, African Giant”.
Burna Boy’s YouTube channel has 5 million subscribers.
In other news, Innocent Ujah Idibia, aka 2Baba, a Nigerian musician, has stated that his colleague Burna Boy is currently among the top five musicians in the world.
2Baba, who made the statement while reacting to a video of Burna Boy performing his hit song ‘Last Last’ at a festival in Europe, explained that he was inspired.
He wrote, “Burna [Boy] is in the Top 5 music artists in the world right now. I say this from an inspirational place, it was all a dream.”
