Mexican Actor, Adan Canto, who featured in the 2014 superhero film ‘X-Men’, dies at 42 after battling appendiceal cancer.
This was disclosed to Hollywood Reporter by the actor’s representative, who stated that Canto died of appendiceal cancer on Tuesday, January 9.
Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment issued a joint statement, describing Canto as a “wonderful actor and dear friend” as they expressed their heartbreak over his death.
The statement read, “A wonderful actor and dear friend, we were honored to have him as part of the Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment families since his U.S. debut in ‘The Following’ more than a decade ago.”
They also extended their condolences to his family, adding that he would be greatly missed.
“This is an unfathomable loss, and we grieve alongside his wife Stephanie, their children and loved ones. We will miss Adan dearly,” they wrote.
Canto secured his first TV role in the Mexican series ‘Estado de Gracia’ in 2009, his American acting debut occurred in the Fox crime thriller series ‘The Following’ in 2013.
He also appeared in ‘Designated Survivor,’ ‘Narcos,’ and ‘The Cleaning Lady’.
Additionally, he portrayed the powerful mutant Sunspot in the superhero film ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’.
Canto is survived by his wife, Stephanie Ann Canto, and their two children, Roman Alder and Eve Josephine.
