President Muhammadu Buhari, president-elect Bola Tinubu, former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and the likes of others have sent tributes to Hilda Baci, for what might now be termed, the showcasing of the true Nigerian spirit.
In a statement by presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, the president Buhari lauded the young culinary expert for making history and placing Nigeria in the global spotlight.
The statement reads, “I share the immense joy of all Nigerians as Hilda Bassey Effiong (Hilda Baci) makes history by breaking the world record for longest cooking marathon. A great day for Nigeria. We’re all very proud of what she has personally accomplished—and placing Nigeria in the global spotlight,” the statement reads.
In the same light, the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, felicitated with the young chef on her record-breaking achievement.
He said, “It was a remarkable display of the Nigerian can-do attitude and the spirit of excellence that lies within. We are all deeply proud of her”.
Also, former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, earlier praised the chef for inspiring millions with her strength.
He said “the flavor, passion and dedication she puts into her work are unparalleled. Hilda, you’ve made Lagos proud and your accomplishment is a testament to the Nigerian spirit.”
The legislature was not also left out, as Senate President, Ahmad Lawan also congratulated the Nigerian chef for breaking the world record in the cooking marathon.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on media, Ola Awoniyi, the Senate President said “I celebrate Hilda Baci for breaking Guinness World record in ‘longest cooking time.’
“You have made us proud by again showing to the entire world that we have all it takes to excel in any task we set our hands on,” Lawan said.
He further commended the Lagos State government for the tremendous support it gave Baci to showcase herself and Nigeria to the world.
On his part, Lagos Governor, Sanwo-Olu wrote, “Huge congratulations to Chef Hilda Baci on breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest hours spent cooking. I had the privilege of visiting and tasting her amazing dishes yesterday,”
Some celebrities like Dremo, IK Osakioduwa, Eni Adeoluwa, Timini Egbuson, Liquorose, Tiwa Savage, Spyro, Charles Okocha, and Skiibii also visited the venue of the competition to cheer up Hilda Baci.
