Super Eagles Striker Victor Osimhen, who currently plays for Galatasan in Turkey, has been accused of physically assaulting a journalist in a nightclub altercation.
According to Turkish media outlet Posta, the incident occurred when Osimhen became annoyed with journalist Tolga Bozduman filming him as he exited a nightclub in Istanbul with friends.
Bozduman recounted the altercation, stating: “I was filming Osimhen as he exited, accompanied by three colleagues. When the camera flashes stopped, he became furious. He rushed towards me, shouting, and attempted to grab my camera. When I refused to let go, he punched me. It still hurts. Then he started swearing and said, ‘Destroy the photos, I’ll give you money.’ I refused, and he threatened me, saying, ‘I’ll destroy you.”
At the time of this report, neither Osimhen nor Galatasaray has issued a statement addressing the situation. The club’s management also has not yet clarified whether they will take disciplinary action against the player.
