Afrobeat Star, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has announced that his foundation, ‘David Adeleke Foundation, DAF’ has donated N237 million to 424 orphanages in Nigeria.
Davido disclosed this through a statement shared on his official Instagram page on Thursday, 20th July, noting that he had always wanted to use his platform to serve others.
The statement reads in part, “I am proud that my foundation, the David Adeleke Foundation (DAF) has donated the sum of #237,000,000.00 (Two Hundred and Thirty-seven Million Naira) to orphanages through out Nigeria.”
According to Davido, His donation was birthed during his birthday in 2022.
On the caption, Davido wrote, “I’ve always wanted to use my platform to serve others. Thankful that through your generousity, I’ve been able to do so.
“We recently disbursed over N200m to several orphanages in Nigeria, a tradition that started a few years ago around my birthday. Thank you to everyone who donated. With your help, we are changing lives.
“This is what I mean when I say We rise by lifting others. These are words in action. God bless you all,” he added.
