Guinness World Records has announced the rejection of Ghanaian chef, Failatu Abdul-Razak’s 227-hour record for the longest individual cooking marathon.
Recall that, in January 2024, the Ghanaian chef, cooked for 227 hours in a bid to set a new Guinness World Record (GWR).
She began her remarkable attempt on New Year’s Day at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale and on Wednesday, ended her attempt at the 227 hours.
In response GWR, noted that Failatu’s attempt to earn the record for the longest individual cooking marathon failed because she didn’t follow the regulations for rest breaks.
The coordinator, Kafui Dey, announced the failed attempt, which had received broad endorsements from Ghana’s military, politicians, and celebrities.
Dey said, “A statement from the Records Management Team cited a violation of the rest break rules, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt.”
However, Chef Failatu thanked her fans in spite of the setback, stating that she doesn’t take their important role in her path for granted.
