Honourable Justice O. Jalogho-Williams of the High Court of Delta State, is dead. Justice Jalogho-Williams was said to have passed on Tuesday 3rd April 2018, after a brief illness.
In his tribute to the departed jurist, a Delta State based lawyer, Mr. Favour Enuji described Honourable Justice Jalogho-Williams as a rare breed judge whose contributions to the growth of the legal profession in Delta State will stand out for a long time. He described her death as a huge loss to Deltans.
In his own tribute, Chief Arthur Obi-Okafor, SAN, stated that “Her demise is a shocking eclipse, that has left a great vacuum in the Delta State Judiciary and I pray the Almighty to grant her family, the bench and people of Delta State the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, while granting the soul of the departed eternal rest.”
It would be recalled that sometime in 2017, late Justice Jalogho-Williams was redeployed from the Kwale Division of the High Court of Delta State following the controversy that trailed a landmark judgment delivered by her, convicting the Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Development in Delta State, Mr. Dan Okenyi, for failing to release salient land documents to the Umu-Okpala Omai family of Umusam, Kwale contrary to the Freedom of Information Act.
