President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been sworn in as the 16th president of the republic of Nigeria.
The ceremony took place at the Eagle Square in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
Chief Justice of the Federation, Olukayode Ariwoola administered the oath of office to the President at 10:40 am, shortly after the Vice President the Vice President took his oath of office.
Earlier, the official portrait of President Bola Tinubu was released.
This was unveiled on Monday by one of his aides, Bayo Onanuga.
Onanuga announced this via his verified Twitter handle.
He wrote, “From today 29 May 2023, he shall be known and called President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The glory belongs To Almighty God, the God of all possibilities. And also to us the Nigerian people. Here is the official portrait of Nigeria’s 16th President.”
