Chairman, BUA Cement Plc, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has re-iterate commitment towards cement price reduction from N5,000 to probably N3,000 or N3,500 per bag.
Rabiu mentioned this immediately after a meeting with the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Friday, September 25, noting that the price reduction is possible because about 80% of the materials used for the production of cement are gotten locally.
He also said that, the to support the government to bring down the price.
The statement partly read, “We want to support the effort of the government in bringing down the price cement.
“By the time this lines are commissioned, BUA cement will be producing about 7 million tons per anum and we intend to bring down the current level of N5,000 or N5,500 per bag to maybe N3,000 or N3,500 per bag.”
The chairman also noted that the plant will be commissioned either by December 2023 or January 2024.
