The presiding pastor of Mountain of Fire and Miracles, Ihama branch in Benin City, Pastor Felix Eribo, has urged Christians to show good example wherever they find themselves in compliance with the injunction of Jesus Christ that they should be the salt of the world.
The pastor gave the admonition at a Thanksgiving service to mark the recovery from a debilitating illness by Comrade Didi Adodo in the church on Sunday.
The Edo State chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Ademokun, former NLC chairman in Delta state, Comrade Paul Ebhalemen, Comrade Modesty Itua were among the guests that accompanied Comrade Adodo to the Thanksgiving service.
According to the cleric, Jesus Christ in his charge is not expecting them to be like salt, but to be the salt of the world.
“Salt heals, salt irritates. A Christian should be irritated by sin and evil as salt of the world”.
He urged members of the congregation to shun acts that will equate them with unbelievers as that will amount to loosing their value like salt that has lost its value.
While urging Christians to eschew bias in their christian and circular dealings just as salt transcends all cultures and is available every where, Pastor Eribo said: “Salt is not hindered by culture. Don’t allow culture to hinder you from operating as a child of God”.
In his testimony at the well attended Thanksgiving service, the celebrant, Comrade Didi Adodo said he was bedridden for three months stating that it took the grace of God for him to regain back his health as he can stand on his feet and walk again.
While thanking Pastor Eribo, members of the church, friends and family members for their prayers, Comrade Adodo solicited for more prayers for him and members of his family.
Highpoint of the Thanksgiving service was the presentation of thanksgiving offering by Comrade Adodo accompanied by his wife, friends and family members.
Activities thereafter shifted to the residence of the Adodo’s for a reception. Guests were entertained lavishly as there was a lot to eat and drink.
