A coalition of Civil Society Groups working to set the Nigeria democratic values, has applauded President Muhammadu Buhari over his refusal to be swayed by the campaign of calumny and blackmail against members of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The Civil Society Groups said they are in support of the President’s decision to extend the tenure of the Interim Management Committee of the Commission.
The group under the aegis of Network of Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria and led by the National Coordinator, Comr. Victor Kalu, in a statement however warned those selfish leaders involved in the recent alleged blackmail and wicked campaign of calumny against the IMC by sponsoring unwarranted attacks against the IMC to desist from such acts or they will be forced to expose such leaders behind the mask.
The statement read in part” We are happy with manner the members of the Interim Management Committee are managing and running the NDDC and we hereby pass a vote of confidence on the team because we have not seen any negative acts or decisions been carried out since they assumed office rather they are doing everything possible within limited resources to provide succour to our people and speedily bringing the NDDC back to the track”.
“Those selfish leaders sponsoring negative attacks on the IMC and Sen. Godswill Akpabio are not trying to solve the NDDC or Nigeria problems but they are changing tactics against the IMC to fix in their cronies in other to hold the dollars ahead of their 2023 political ambition but we believe strongly in our very Dear President Muhammadu Buhari who wholeheartedly will not dance to the tune of these selfish Political leaders hiding under the canopy of the ruling party.”
