Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, has assured the management and staff of Trend 100.9 FM, Asaba, that the state government will continue to partner with the station for its sustainability.
Mr. Ukah disclosed this during a surprise send forth party organized by staff of the station for the outgoing General Manager, Mr. Niyi Ojemakinde, in Asaba.
While commending the station for its support for the Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration in the state, Mr. Ukah promised to work with the new General Manager, Ijeoma Uba, as he commended Mr. Ojemakinde for his pioneering role in growing the station, adding that he will be greatly missed by his listeners.
The Commissioner for Information wished the former General Manager the best in his future endeavors and charged him to continue to be in constant contact with the friends that he made in the state during the period of his stay.
He urged workers of the station to imbibe the leadership style of Mr. Ojemakinde and improve on the skills and knowledge he impacted on them so that Trend FM will continue to grow from strength to strength.
The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Okowa, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, while commending the communal spirit noticed during the ceremony, noted that the former GM ran the affairs of the station like it belonged to him and urged the new GM to build on the legacies left behind by Mr. Ojemakinde.
Some of the workers who spoke during the event, were unanimous in the fact that the former GM impacted positively on them, noting that they will miss him greatly.
In an emotional speech, Mr. Ojemakinde expressed surprise over the party as he was not expecting such a ceremony in his honour, noting that he is still a member of Trend FM family.
He said that whatever he was able to achieve was due to the cooperation of the management and staff of the station and thanked the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Trend FM, Agatha Amata, for providing the enabling environment for him to succeed.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, represented by the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Andrew Aniamaka, and the Executive Secretary of the Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (DEMSMA), Shimite Bello, among other personalities attended the ceremony.
