Delta State has witnessed unprecedented socio-economic, infrastructural and human capital development as well as good governance under the administration of the State Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa.
The State Commissioner for Information, Chief Patrick Ukah, who stated this in Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area during the local government Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally as part of strategy to draw more support for the re-election of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the governor of the state, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, the Senator representing Delta North in the National Assembly and the member representing Oshimili North constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Mrs.) Princess Pat Ajudua, described all PDP candidates including the party’s presidential flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as good and saleable products.
Chief Ukah, who said that the rally was aimed at enlightening the people of Okpanam on the achievements of Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa in the state and Okpanam Community in particular, advised them to vote massively for the party in all elective positions so as to consolidate on the gains recorded so far, adding that APC led federal government had brought untold hardship to Nigerians.
In his remarks, the Senator representing Delta North at the Upper Chamber, Senator (Barr.) Peter Nwaoboshi, harped on the need for the re-election of Senator Okowa for the sake of equity as the Central and South Senatorial Districts had ruled the state for eight years each.
Senator Nwaoboshi stated that Okpanam community had benefitted immensely from the present administration in the area of infrastructural development and appealed to the people to continue to stand for PDP, saying that he was seeking re-election into the Senate in order to consolidate on his achievements for the people of Delta North, especially for giving them a stronger voice at the National Assembly.
Also speaking, the Delta North Chairman of the PDP, Chief Moses Iduh, the member representing Oshimili North constituency in the state House of Assembly, Hon. (Mrs.) Pat Ajudua, the Special Assistant to the governor on Contributory Health Commission, Dr. (Mrs.) Zelibe Anyamele, and the Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Louis Ndukwe, advised the people to collect their PVCs to enable them exercise their franchise.
They said that their votes were crucial in determining the future of the nation, adding that PDP remained the best option for country.
