Dog Rescues Abandoned Baby In Anambra
A stray dog searching for food has discovered an abandoned infant (boy) in the forest, in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to CHANNELS TELEVISION report, the stray dog carried the infant across a busy track and kept him in a public glare, apparently for passersby to pick up for rehabilitation.
The dog reportedly found the baby in a plastic bag, left abandoned in the forest. The infant, described as stable, likely spent around two days in the forest before being discovered by the dog.
In a viral video, some women believed to be local midwives are seen cleaning the baby while condemning the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
While thanking God for saving the baby from being devoured by animals, they implored perpetrators of such acts to hand over babies to people to take care of instead of throwing them away.
The police are yet to confirm the incident as at the time of filing this report.
