As campaigns for the 19 September Edo State governorship election commences, wife of the Edo State deputy governor and the gubernatorial running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Mrs. Maryann Philip Shaibu has admonished women to ensure they observe all the Covid-19 pandemic preventive protocols as set out by Edo State government and the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC and the Edo State government during political campaigns.
Mrs. Maryann Shaibu gave the admonition at Jattu, Uzairue in Etsako West Local Government Area while on sensitisation of women in Edo North senatorial district on code of conduct before, during and after the 19 September Edo State governorship election.
Mrs. Shaibu who was visibly elated because of the mammoth crowd which is likened to that of crusade by a leading Pentecostal church, urged the women to be law abiding and cast their votes for Governor Godwin Obaseki and Philip Shaibu ticket on the platform of the PDP.
“There is need for everyone to be law abiding and maintain decorum before, during and after the election.
“The crowd present here today is an indication that Obaseki/Shaibu re-election bid is providential and not negotiable come September 19th 2020.
“I urge all Edo women to come out to massively vote for Obaseki /Shaibu 2020 for infrastructural development as Edo North is for Obaseki and Shaibu second term ambition”, she appealed.
Women leaders, women and young women from all the books and crannies of Edo North senatorial district attended the rally in solidarity with Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy who are the PDP governorship candidate and running mates respectively in the 19 September election.
