In what could be termed as a confirmation of excellent performance, the Edo State House of Assembly today passed a vote of confidence on the executive governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki.
At today’s plenary, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Adjoto who expressed satisfaction at the unprecedented performance of the Godwin Obaseki led government, enjoined the house to passed a vote of confidence on the governor.
While moving the vote of confidence, the Majority Leader, Hon. Roland Asoro said Governor Godwin Obaseki has performed beyond expectations.
“Going by the numerous developmental strides of Edo State government led by Mr Godwin Obaseki, I want to move that a vote of confidence be passed on the governor “, he said.
The Majority Leader said the governor had turned Edo State to a construction site as he had voraciously engaged in infrastructural projects since he assumed office.
The member representing Ikpoba-Okha State Constituency, Hon. Henry Okhuarobo who seconded the motion also eulogized the governor on his commitment to better the lot of Edo People.He said the governor had positively transformed virtually all sectors of the state economy.
Hon. Okhuarobo added that Edo State is one of the few states in the federation that pays workers salaries as and when due.
The Ikpoba-Okha lawmaker affirmed that the governor had already written his name in gold by genuinely redefining what true governance entails.
Amidst the spate of defections in the national political space, the Speaker Rt. Hon. Kabiru Adjoto hinted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State remained formidable as there was no crack whatsoever.
