The Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Alhaji Kabiru Adjoto has expressed satisfaction over the orderly and peaceful conduct of Edo state Muslims on pilgrimage in the holy Land for this year Hajj.
The Speaker who is the Amirul Hajj of Edo state contingent, in a telephone interview said the state pilgrims had moved to Mecca for the final prayer at Kabba, before winding up the spiritual rejuvenation exercise. He disclosed that the Pilgrims who have been camped in the city of Munna for four nights after an earlier night in Muzdalifa, prayed for peace, progress and effective prosecution of state transformation agenda enunciated by the Obaseki led administration.
“The one hundred and thirty Muslim Pilgrims from Edo state joined their millions counterpart all over the world to take part in the symbolic casting of pebbles on the Devil in Jamrat where Prophet Ibrahim was said to cast pebbles on Satan for preventing him to offer his only son, Ishmael for sacrifice.”
The Speaker assured that Pilgrims from Edo state will continue to display high level of comportment and responsibility in order to portray the image of Edo state in good light.
