Esan Youth Movement (EYM), a socio-cultural group, Esan has commended the Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki for appointing Mr Julius Anelu as the acting Accountant General of the state.
In a statement issued on Friday 14th June 2019, and signed by the President General of the movement, Kingsley Ohens, said the appointment has further demonstrated that the governor is a detribalised Nigerian.
The youth leader who described the appointment as a square peg in a square hole, acknowledged the governor’s strong desire for hardwork and proficiency, as well as his love for every Edo man and woman regardless of where he or she comes from.
Ohens said, “No doubt, he is a true and sincere leader that must be appreciated for his good work. Esan people will by this act forget all the grievances they had for the previous administrations following issues bothering on neglect and marginalization. By this action of the governor we will continuously support him. Esan youths are solidly behind the Governor and will truly support him any time any day.”
Julius Anelu who was recently appointed by the governor as Acting Accountant General of the state hails from Esan West Local Government Area of Edo state.
Anelu joined the civil service in 1991 and rose through the levels of the civil service as a result of commitment and hard work.
Until his appointment, he was the Director, Finance and Accounts, Directorate of Government House and Protocol.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; a Master of Business Administration (MBA); Master of Science (MSc), in Accounting and Masters in Human Resource Management.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN); Fellow, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN); Associate Member, Institute of Finance and Control of Nigeria (IFCN), among others.
