President Bola Tinubu on Monday, approved the appointment of new Directors-General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, and the Department of State Services, DSS.
Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed was named the new Director-General of the NIA while Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi is the new Director-General of the DSS.

AMBASSADOR MOHAMMED MOHAMMED
Ambassador Mohammed is from Lafiagi, Kwara State.
He graduated from Bayero University, Kano, in 1990.
Ambassador Mohammed has had an illustrious career in the foreign service since joining the NIA in 1995.
He served in various capacities, including Director of Programmes at the Directorate of Technical AID Corps (DTCA) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
The Kwara-Born Deplomat served in North Korea, Pakistan, Sudan, and at the State House, Abuja. He was at a time the head of the Nigerian mission to Libya.
ADEOLA OLUWATOSIN AJAYI
Ajayi started the service in 1990 as a Cadet Officer.
He joined the agency four years after it was created.
Ajayi had, at various times, served as State Director in Bauchi, Enugu, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Kogi.
The new DSS boss is well trained in several areas of management, security leadership, critical training, human resources among others from within and outside the country.
According to the statement issued by Tinubu’s spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the President expects the new DGs to work tirelessly to reposition the two agencies.
“President Tinubu expects that the new security chiefs will work assiduously to reposition the two intelligence agencies for better results and charges them to bring their experience to bear in tackling the security challenges bedeviling the country through enhanced collaboration with sister agencies and in surgical alignment with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).”
Adding that the appointment of Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed and Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi following the resignation of the previous bosses, “The new appointments follow the resignation of the previous NIA and DSS chiefs.”
