Nigerian police has fired tear gas on several hundred protesters rallying against the cost of living in the northern city of Kano.
According to AFP correspondent at the scene, protesters tried to light bonfires outside the governor’s office and police responded with tear gas, driving many of the protesters back.
Protesters were also rallying in Lagos and the capital Abuja.
