For his impact in public health and girl child education, Keno Ekpokpobe, has clinched appointment as Global Youth Ambassador (GYA) by the A World At School, a United Nations assisted project.
Oghenekeno Joshua Ekpokpobe, an alumnus of the University of Benin, College of Medical Sciences was nominated for the appointment early last week before his eventual appointment.
Contained in his letter of appointment signed by Khaleda Yesmin, on behalf of the Youth Team, London, the appointment will elapse in 2021.
The letter stated that his appointment is consequential to their ideals due to his understanding of the barriers faced by children in accessing education especially in developing countries.
In a chat with newsmen, the obviously elated ambassador said he is honoured to have been appointed a Global Youth Ambassador out of the many who applied adding that the opportunity will increase his scope of work in reaching out towards implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.
He said he would drive campaigns for every child to get the best start in life by advocating for quality pre-natal care which according to him is vital for every mother and baby even as he will work towards raising awareness about public health education in schools and communities.
Keno is currently a candidate of the President Barrack Obama initiated/US government funded Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Regional Leadership Centre, West Africa, Accra.
