The Intellectual Hub, a public interest and advocacy group Friday, reached out to personnel on the frontline in the war against Covid-19 in Benin City, the Edo state capital.
These frontline personnel including traffic control officers, journalists and others on essential duties benefited from the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) distributed by Intellectual Hub to protect frontline personnel in the line of duty in the fight against the dreaded coronavirus.
The distributed PPE were face masks, hand sanitizers and hand gloves.
The Convener of the Intellectual Hub, Douglas Ogbankwa Esq., while distributing the materials to the traffic officers and journalists noted that members of the group contributed the items and resources to get same as part of its social responsibility to the society.
The traffic officers and other beneficiaries thanked the Hub for their concern over their safety and prayed God to bless all members of the group.
Earlier, the Hub reached out to some public places like Kada Plaza, AP Filing Station, the NBA Benin Bar House and the Press Centre of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Benin City where the PPE were given out to those on the frontline including security personnel, restaurant operators, administrative staff and journalists.
Ogbankwa disclosed to journalists that the benevolence of the group will continue this weekend with the distribution of 100 food packs comprising rice, beans and 4 litre palm oil to the vulnerable; a visit to orphanages and distribution of Personal Protective Items to frontline responders and members of the public.
