The Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris has said that it is not the right time for Nigeria Labour Congress to “embark on any kind of protest”.
Idris stated this during an interview program on Channel’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, February 26.
He noted that Nigeria Labour should try to see reasons with the government as they are trying to curb the excessive skyrocketing of food items.
He said, “We don’t think it is the right time for Labour to Embark on any kind of protest whatsoever.
“Every point they have laid in the conversation or discussion we have had with them have been met, except those ones you can’t just buy off the shelf, for example the issue of CNG.”
He further called on the “Nigeria Labour Congress to see reasons” with the government.
Following the Economic Hardship in the country, protesters are currently rallying round streets holding placards with different inscription such as “We are Hungry”, “Governments come to our aid” and many others.
