The Lagos State government has destroyed a construction of an unauthorized shrine by a main road at Iyana Ipaja area of the State.
In a now viral video, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps members are seen destroying the construction.
According to the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency, and the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps were involved in the removal of the shrine.
“After several stop-work notices were served and physical assaults occurred against personnel of the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency @LASPARKLagos, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps @LAGESCOfficial earlier today removed the shrine constructed close to a main road at Moshalasi Bus Stop, Ile Epo in Iyana Ipaja,”
Wahab further warned residents to avoid constituting environmental nuisance, he said, “The Lagos State government is again warning everyone to desist from constituting any form of environmental nuisance on state parks and gardens, as this will be met with prosecution.”
