Honorable commissioner for Urban Renewal, Hon Oghenekaro Ilolo has said that the ministry is at the verge of achieving 100% in its projects due to the robust 2018 budget.
Hon Ilolo made this statement today during the Ministry’s 2018 budget defense before the House Committee on Urban Renewal at the Delta State House of Assembly adding that budgeting is the kernel that drives development and that the Ministry is willing to improve in budget performance in subsequent years as there is serious room for development.
According to Hon Ilolo, “for sometime, there have not been any plan towards urban renewal as the last one was when the state was still encapsulated in the then Bendel state”, He added that there are now modalities on ground undergoing due process to aid the activities of the ministry positively.
He further said that, as an intervention ministry, in 2015 nothing much was done but that in 2016 the ministry got approval to construct 6 roads in different communities with intents of turning the communities into metropolis adding that the activities of the ministry have been unprecedented following the magnitude of projects it has engaged in.
