The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director General, Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed has assured corp members that their monthly allowance will be increased.
The NYSC boss stated this while addressing corps members at Kebbi State Orientation Camp, Dakingari and Sokoto State Orientation Camp in Wamakko on Wednesday.
According to CHANNELS TELEVISION report, General Ahmed said their selfless and immense contributions to the socio-economic development of the country cannot be underestimated.
He also implored corp members to use the opportunity of the service year to develop themselves and plan for greater heights in future.
Recall that In 2020, the NYSC increased the allowances of corps members from N19,800 to N33,000, months after a new minimum wage bill of N30,000 was signed.
Late July, President Bola Tinubu signed the the new minimum wage bill on N70,000 into law, ending months of deliberations between government authorities, labour unions, and the private sector.
