Prince Ned Nwoko has said that Ndokwa/Ukwuani axis has suffered lots of environmental degradation by international oil companies for a very long time and has revealed that as a true Anioma son, he will ensure that this evident environmental degradation is stopped completely through legislative process upon assumption of office come 2019 at the red chambers.
The renowned Anioma prince made these revelations on Friday, 11th May, 2018 while speaking to journalists after the Delta North PDP meeting held at Orchid Hotels, Asaba, adding that he can’t do this alone but that with the support of the Anioma nation, he will ensure proper and swift legislations if elected come 2019, stressing that, “the people of Ndokwa/Ukwuani aixs has suffered lots of environmental degradation from the activities of Oil companies; from Oil Spillages and more importantly from Gas Flaring. So I must make sure that it is stopped. However it is done; either I confront the Oil gurus in their countries or in Nigeria here, that must be done.”
Speaking further the Delta North senatorial hopeful said, “the oil companies can not continue to do what they are doing here without anybody stopping them, I must ensure that they apply international best practices. They all have Oil companies operating in America, United Kingdom, Russia and in the Middle East and they do what is right there. But ask yourself why is that they don’t apply the same standards here, it is because of failures in leadership. Our people compromise easily and I would make sure that that doesn’t happen anymore with the solid support of the people.”
Prince Nwoko who reiterated his move in engineering the Dualization of the Asaba-Benin Expressway while at the House of Representatives, hinted that, if elected come 2019, he will ensure that this legacy of his, which has been left to decay over the years mostly towards the Benin end which is evidently dead and gone, will be rehabilitated to standard.
He further commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his high level of transparency cum neutrality towards aspirants at all levels, adding that PDP leaders at all levels have also keyed into Governor Okowa’s mode of operations, stressing that the regular senatorial meeting is a great move in the right direction, as there’s no better way to reassure PDP faithfuls of the evident unity and togetherness in the party.
Nwoko urged Deltans and Nigerians in extension to go and get their voters card stressing that, everybody’s vote must count. “Everybody must come out and vote. If you don’t have a voters card, please get it because this is the time to get it.”
