The President General of the Igbo apex socio-cultural group, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has threatened to take the Federal Government to court for appointing only five ministers from the South-East.
Iwuanyanwu made this threat at a press conference in Owerri, on Wednesday, October 25.
According to Iwuanyanwu, the Federal Government failed to be fair to the South-East by just give ministerial appointments compared to other zones of the country in the Federal Executive Council.
“It is unfair for the President to give the southeast only five slots for ministerial appointments while other zones boast of 10 ministers,” he said.
He further appealed that the Federal Government should create additional states in the South-East to make it even with other geo-political zones in the country, adding that the FG inability to create additional state has increased the rate of underdevelopment in the country
