Two students have reportedly killed in Nasarawa State University, Keffi have lost their lives during the distribution of palliatives while 23 have been hospitalised.
According to CHANNELS TELEVISION, on Friday, the Head of Information of the school, Abraham Habu, disclosed this via a telephone conversation.
Habu noted that school had received palliatives from the state government to distribute to the students to cushion the effect of the economic hardship.
He said, Today, the distribution of palliatives at the school’s convocation arena turned chaotic when certain students overwhelmed the security, leading to a stampede that resulted in fatalities and injuries as they seized the food items.
Habu added that normalcy has returned and the 23 students are receiving medical attention.
Recall that, the Nasarawa State government had early in the week launched the distribution of palliatives to students of tertiary institutions in the state.
