The Association of Master Bakers and Caterers Rivers State chapter, Nigeria has urged bread and pastries consumers to prepare their minds for a price hike from Monday (Today), as prices of baking materials has drastically increased.
Bread is food made of flour, water, and yeast mixed together and baked, many homes across the globe serve this as breakfast. It is usually served with tea.
This announcement was made by the State Chairman of the association, Dr. Chidi Orlu, while speaking with reporters in Port Harcourt.
Orlu noted that the poor economic condition of the country has also affected bakers production costs, adding that the increment would be minimal.
His words, “From Monday the prices of bread in Rivers State will increase slightly. We plead with consumers and the general public to understand with us.”
While mentioning that the raw materials used in the production of bread and other pastries is in the rise, he said “The issue of the petroleum product, fuel and diesel have not helped matters.”
