The Former Governor of Delta State, Nyesom Wike has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not have a reason to regret nominating him as a Minister in his cabinet.
Wike disclosed this during the ministerial screening at the National Assembly on Monday, 31st July.
He started statement by reeling out his profile and achievements, then noted that his passion for Nigeria propelled him to accept the ministerial offer.
“There are so many people who want to be ministers for the sake that ‘I was a governor’, for the sake that ‘I was a minister’ but there are those who say, ‘Look, what do I have to offer? Am I committed to this job?.
“I thank Mr President for nominating me. I believe, knowing how hungry Mr President is to solving the problems of Nigeria, we have no choice but to give him the required support. And I can assure you, if I am confirmed in whatever capacity, Mr President will not regret nominating me.”
Wike, is the only Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain nominated in the ministerial list sent by the President to the Senate.
