The Supreme Court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday, May 9, has affirmed the election of Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the Governor of Osun State.
The immediate-past governor of Osun, Adegboyega Oyetola, had filed a petition challenging Adeleke’s victory.
A five-man panel, dismissed the appeal by former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for lacking in merit.
The judgement followed an earlier decision by a three-member panel of the appellate court led by Mohammed Shuaibu, which affirmed his victory, nullifying the judgement of the election petition tribunal.
Recall that David Adeleke on his Twitter handle, had prayed for God’s intervention.
