Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has admonished members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to mobilise electorates in the State to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), stressing that, he has no doubt that his administration has recorded lots of achievements that will earn the party victory in the forthcoming general elections at all levels.
Governor Okowa stated this on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, when the PDP gubernatorial campaign berthed at Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area, stressing that a colosal increase in the collection of PVCs would positively affect the number of votes at the polls, adding that “there are still some voters cards that are yet to be collected, mobilize our people to utilise the window offered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for everybody to collect their voters cards,” hinting that, “we want every unit, ward, and every local government area to beat its previous record in delivery of votes.
The Governor further said, “we know we will win but we should win with very high margin. You have listed the roads we have constructed, those we are constructing, the empowerment programmes we have done, when we make promises, we keep to our promise and in the next four years, we will surpass our achievements, vote for all the candidates of the PDP”, adding that, “this is not the time for disagreement, it is time to work as one united family because the best results come from local government areas where there is unity,”
Okowa commended the people of Aniocha South local government and environs for their continuous and robust support to his administration, adding that they should give him and other PDP candidate their votes in the upcoming elections to enable him and his team continue with their good work.
Responding on behalf of the Local Government, Hon. Jerry Ossai described Governor Okowa as a great road master, emphasizing that the Governor’s developmental strides cuts across the entire Local Government Area and the the people are fully ready to reciprocate this act by voting PDP all the way at the polls.
