The Chairman of Delta North Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council, Chief Godswill Obielum, has said that the large turnout of party members during the campaigns in the wards in Ndokwa East Local Government in the course of the ongoing campaign in the Senatorial District is a confirmation of the acceptability level of the party in the area.
While appreciating the people for their loyalty and large turnout in all the wards visited, Chief Obielum stated that ordinarily, PDP would not have campaigned in Ndokwa East since he was 100% sure that the local government had always been voting for PDP, but for the fact that the party was in touch with the grassroot hence the need to come and felicitate with them as well as tell them to get ready for the general election that will be held in the country.
He charged the people to ensure that on the day of national election, they should vote for Atiku Abubakar as the President, Senator Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi as Senator while Hon. Ossai Ossai be returned to the House of Representatives to continue with the good work they were already doing, while they should vote for Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as the Governor and Hon. Friday Osanebi to continue his wonderful performance at the Delta State House of Assembly.
In his speech, the Chairman of PDP in Delta North, Hon. Moses Iduh, called on the people to not only collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) but to vote and be ready to protect their hard earned democracy thereby sending those who are presently occupying political positions for self indulgence out of office.
He noted that those occupying positions at the federal level have no business being there since they are not in touch with the needs and desires of Nigerians hence the need to send them packing by ensuring that all their votes were cast for PDP candidates only.
The Senator representing Delta North in the upper chambers of the National Assembly, Senator Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi during his address told the people that as the Chairman of Senate Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) he had ensured that many roads in Delta North especially in Ndokwa East were tarred while others are being awarded and that some will be completed before the end of the year.
