The White House has dispelled rumors circulating about President Joe Biden’s potential withdrawal from the race due to concerns about his age and communication style following the first presidential debate against Donald Trump.
According to BBC report, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre addressed the media during a press briefing, on Wednesday, stating that President Joe Biden wants to stay in the race and is “strong and resolute”.
“This is a president who is strong and resolute,” Jean-Pierre noted. She went on to say, “He is as sharp as ever, as I have known him to be.”
When asked about the President’s intentions, Jean-Pierre replied, “The president is clear-eyed and he is staying in the race.” She doubled down, reiterating that Biden is clear about his desire to continue, “That is what the president is focused on, continuing to deliver for the American people.”
Jean-Pierre acknowledged, “This moment is critical, regardless of the debate… Everything is at stake.” However, she also admitted, “The last few days have been challenging.” Jean-Pierre observed that any leader would say, “They always have to prove themselves… to their constituents.”
