US Democratic Presidential Candidate, Kamala Harris has picked the Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, as her vice-presidential nominee, according to US media reports.
Walz, 60, emerged as a late contender for the role and was not among the early frontrunners who tended to represent hotly contested battleground states such as Arizona and Pennsylvania.
BBC report also disclosed that Walz is expected to appear with Ms Harris later on Tuesday at a campaign event in Philadelphia.
Democrats believe he can appeal to rural and working-class voters in crucial Midwestern US states.
