AS Roma Sacks Jose Mourinho as Head Coach
AS Roma Club has announced the immediate dismissal of Former Manchester United and Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho and his technical team over disappointing results.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the club on Tuesday, January 16.
A statement read: “AS Roma announces that José Mourinho and his technical collaborators will leave the Club with immediate effect.
“Mourinho was announced as the sixtieth manager in Roma’s history in May 2021.
“He led the team to win the Conference League in Tirana on 25 May 2022 and to the Europa League final in Budapest last season.
“We thank José on behalf of all of us at AS Roma for the passion and commitment he has shown since his arrival in the Giallorossi,” said Dan and Ryan Friedkin.
“We will always have great memories of his stewardship, but we believe that, in the best interests of the Club, immediate change is necessary.
“We wish José and his collaborators the best for the future.”

The 60-year-old was appointed as Roma boss in May 2021 and led the club to the Europa Conference League title in his first season. It ended I Giallorossi’s 11-year wait for a major trophy and Mourinho almost guided them to the Europa League the following campaign, before narrowly losing out to Sevilla on penalties.
