The Executive Committee Board of the Confederation of African Football had on September 27, 2023, announced that the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be hosted by the East African Nation, Morocco.
According to Africa Facts Zone on X, the six cities in Morocco to host AFCON include;
CASABLANCA
The largest city in the country, which has a long tram network covering 60 kilometers.
RABAT
The capital of the country, which has Africa’s largest theater and Africa’s second tallest tower.
TANGIER
It has the largest stadium in Morocco and is linked to the cities of Rabat and Casablanca by a rapid train line
MARRAKECH
The first Skybox stadium in the American-style stands, with its airport among the 10 most popular airports in Africa and among the 5 most visited cities on the continent in terms of number of hotels.
AGADIR
Its stadium has a capacity of 45,000 spectators, and is one of Morocco’s most prominent tourist cities.
FES
Received the scientific capital, and the fourth city in terms of the number of hotel rooms after Marrakech, Agadir, Casablanca and Tangier and linked to an international airport and a modern train station.
The committee also said that the 2027 AFCON edition will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
