Former Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson has reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Ajax after convincing Al-Ettifaq to terminate his contract.
The English footballer is desperate to leave the Middle East despite only completing a £12 million transfer to Al-Ettifaq during the summer of 2023.
It has been suggested that the midfielder’s wife may be influencing his decision to leave Saudi Arabia as the family has found it hard to adapt to life in their new surroundings.
According to The Atheltic, Henderson has been able to talk his way out of Al-Ettifaq, with his representatives now working with the club to officially terminate the three-year contract that he signed last summer.
Henderson is already on his way back to England after agreeing in principle to join the Eredivisie side and after completing the required paperwork and medical, he will be unveiled as a new Ajax player.
